for the human voice has taken her to stages, living rooms, and huts

Steve
Condit,
Ph.D, is a true sound explorer. Music was always part of his life, as
a listener and a member of choirs. His current life stage in regard
to sound began with S.H.O.W. founder Christie Denhart's and Marline
Lesh's Sol Chanteuse, which wakened him to the power of the human voice
for healing and the pure enjoyment of playing with this marvelous instrument
that is such a part of the human body. S.H.O.W. members Diana Nielsen
and Marybeth Saunders introduced him to Toning and wordless soul singing.
About
1997, Stephen attended a Centerpoint Retreat for Life and Career Transition
where he rediscovered his body below the neck, having been on a academic
path since high school. This discovery led him to Gabrielle
Roth's ecstatic Dance, Chloe
Goodchild and voice work as a spiritual path that included chanting,
improvisation, listening, silence and play.
S.H.O.W.
has been a tremendous support in this process of discovery by introducing
him to many uses of sound and through the monthly toning circles. It
also provided the first venue for Stephen's voice as a poet. He is pleased
to be on the Chord of Directors to help S.H.O.W. continue to be a resource
for others who are working and exploring in the area of healing sound.
